Factors for lower Attorney fees | Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Cost
1. Some bankruptcy filings require less work of an attorney than others. If your bankruptcy is one of those (see below), we pass on the savings by reducing the attorney fee (as low as $800).
2. The least expensive Chapter 7 bankruptcy is for a person that:
a) THAT HAS NOT FILED BANKRUPTCY WITHIN THE LAST EIGHT YEARS,
b) DOES NOT NEED TO TAKE THE MEANS TEST*,
c) DOES NOT NEED ME TO ATTEND THE MEETING OF THE CREDITORS,
d) HAS INTERNET ACCESS,
e) INCOME IS SOLELY DERIVED FROM BEING UNEMPLOYED OR A W-2 WAGE EARNER,
f) HAS NOT USED CREDIT IN THE LAST 90 DAYS,
g) HAS NOT MADE PAYMENTS TO FRIENDS AND RELATIVES IN THE LAST YEAR, OR GIVEN GIFTS TO FRIENDS, RELATIVES, CHARITIES OF $100 OR MORE,
h) DOES NOT OWN A HOUSE AND IS NOT MAKING PAYMENTS ON A CAR, BOAT ETC THAT HE OR SHE WISHES TO KEEP.
3. My attorney fee for this person is $800
This does not include costs charged by the Bankruptcy Court (e.g. $299 filing fee), or the fee charged by class providers for the mandatory credit counseling courses ($15 – $75), or the fee charged by the credit reporting agency $35 individual, $70 per couple).
EVEN IF ALL THE FACTORS ABOVE DO NOT APPLY TO YOU (Some are more important than others) – I can still file your bankruptcy for a very competitive rate.
*Your total income must fall below the listed yearly income levels (periodically adjusted – consult attorney for current info) for the number of people in your household to obtain the least expensive or a lower rate.
